I specialise in helping you to prepare for pregnancy, be it through natural conception or assisted reproduction. My 17 years of experience working with doctors, gynaecologists, urologists, midwives and IVF specialists has given me a unique insight into the process of fertility treatment, and an understanding and empathy of how being unable to conceive affects the whole of your life.

The food we eat feeds all of our cells, and our reproductive cells need specific nutrients to work properly, and oocytes and sperm are no different from heart or liver, or skin cells. In fact, they are probably the most important, carrying the precious DNA of your future child.

From historical evidence and epidemiological studies to animal research and observational studies right through to specific nutrient research the evidence is there; you can improve your fertility through diet and nutrition. Poor sperm quality, obesity, conditions like PCOS and endometriosis, and being underweight, as well as just being a little older as a woman can all be profoundly improved through good, evidence-based nutrition. I think of this as a ‘project’ – usually three months will do it. And then I look after you nutritionally throughout pregnancy and beyond.

Although I am based in London, I also consult with people all over the world using Skype and Facetime.

"I have known Melanie for years and seen how good her results are with many infertility patients. They often feedback on how skilled and resourceful she has been in her management plans and follow up. Melanie is the nutritionist I trust my patients to see for advice and help with fertility issues; she combines solid evidence with common sense and gets results."

- Mr Tarek El-Toukhy, Consultant gynaecologist and IVF specialist

"I believe that the right nutrition can make the changes at the margins, meaning you may be able to conceive naturally rather than undergoing IVF, or have IVF instead of ICSI. I have seen the difference Mel can make."

- Mr Jonathan Ramsay, Consultant urologist and male fertility expert
